OCD

doc says i’m
borderline obsessive
compulsive.

only told him a
few things because
if i told him everything,

like how i am a writer
and i over-edit
my poems even
though i
don’t want to, how
i’ve even gone so
far as to edit
every word out of a
poem on 4
separate occasions
until only the titles
were left,

if i told him
all of that
he would put
me on some kind of
anti-psychotic drug
that would all but
eliminate whatever it is that
allows me to write.

according to some new
research it is
believed that Mozart
had severe OCD
and Nietzsche was
bipolar.

but, unlike Mozart
or Nietzsche
am not a genius

so what’s wrong
with me having a little
glitch where i have
the compulsion
to destroy all existence
of my words?

some editors have told
me it would be
the proper thing
to do with my poetry.
